Research and Impact Team

Team overview

The Research and Impact Team will support the committee to develop research, data and best practice resources for student volunteering. This could include implementing surveys with members to collect data on current student volunteering trends and sharing results with the members. The team will also support the development of working groups within the network and curate a resource hub for members on the website.

Role responsibilities

As an Impact and Research Team member responsibilities could include:

  • Attend meetings (usually monthly) with the Impact and Research Team.
  • Developing an annual survey for SVN members to develop student volunteering research and data.
  • Identify areas of interest for working groups within the membership and work with the Engagement Team to facilitate these. These do not necessarily require Team members to attend these working groups, but to support their development and implementation.
  • Curate a resource hub for best practice to be available for members via the SVN website.
  • Feedback to the rest of the committee on progress and any updates.
  • Oher responsibilities could include helping to respond to queries to the SVN email account, creating content for SVN social media accounts.
  • Individual team members meet at the start of each academic year to develop their key actions for the year, so priorities may change each year as new committee members join.

Commitment

  • Ideally committee members will be a member for a minimum one academic year.
  • There is one whole committee meeting a month, online and then individual teams meet usually on a monthly basis online.

Support

  • You will be inducted by the Chair when you commence your role.
  • You will be provided with access to the SVN committee google drive.
  • A committee member with previous experience of Impact and Research will meet with any new team members to provide an overview and induction.
