Communications Team

Team overview

The Communications Team supports the work of the committee through managing the SVN Website and various associated social media channels.  The team provides editorial oversight and creates content that encourages the membership to be active in SVN and highlights to those outside the network the work and impact of student volunteering.

Role responsibilities

As a Communications Team member your responsibilities may include:

  • Attend meetings (usually monthly) with the Communications Team.
  • Update the SVN WordPress site.
  • Manage on or more social media channel.
  • Write and/or edit copy for online media.
  • Develop communications plan for the membership.
  • Encourage brand recognition for the SVN.

Commitment

  • Ideally committee members will be a member for a minimum one academic year.
  • There is one whole committee meeting a month, online and then individual teams meet usually on a monthly basis online.

Support

  • You will be inducted by the Chair when you commence your role.
  • You will be provided with access to the SVN committee google drive.
  • A committee member with previous experience of Communications will meet with any new team members to provide an overview and induction.
