Engagement Team

Team overview

The Engagement Team will support the committee to maintain a record of the networks membership and actively seek to grow this though gaining members at institutions that are not currently represented.  The Engagement Team is first point of contact for new members and offers signposting for those new to volunteering in an HE/FE setting.  A critical part of the work of the team is experimenting with new and innovative ways to engage the membership to underpin the goals of creating networks and helping professional development.

Role responsibilities

As an Engagement Team member your responsibilities may include:

  • Attend meetings (usually monthly) with the Engagement Team.
  • Help maintain the membership list.
  • Contact potential network members and invite them to join.
  • Manage the SVN email base.
  • Co-Chair Communities of Interest.
  • Support the sustainable operation of the regional networks.
  • Actively engage with the membership in order to create new ways for the membership to network.

Commitment

  • Ideally committee members will be a member for a minimum one academic year.
  • There is one whole committee meeting a month, online and then individual teams meet usually on a monthly basis online.

Support

  • You will be inducted by the Chair when you commence your role.
  • You will be provided with access to the SVN committee google drive.
  • A committee member with previous experience of Engagement will meet with any new team members to provide an overview and induction.
