We heard from national keynote speakers, Ruth Leonard, Board Chair for the Association of Volunteer Managers and Dr Angela Ellis Paine; Lecturer in Voluntary Sector Management from the Bayes Business School.
And undertook workshops focusing on Employability and Empowering students to engage in meaningful international volunteering.

The next SVN conference will take place on Thursday 25 June 2026 and it will be online.
Join Us at the Student Volunteering Network Conference 2026

Cost: £11.50 per delegate (inc.VAT)
The online conference will include:
- Networking sessions to connect with others working in student volunteering
- Practical workshops
- Short talks and shared learning from across the network
Some of themes we will explore include: - Engaging students during the current cost‑of‑living pressures
- Making volunteering more accessible and inclusive
- Co‑creating volunteering opportunities with charity partners
- Volunteering in the curriculum
There will be opportunities to do shared problem solving and share successes. It’s a great chance to get to know others doing similar roles to you around the UK.
